W. Brian Burnette

Mr. Burnette, who joined Weber & Rose in 2008 as an associate attorney, practices primarily in the areas of creditors’ rights. Although his focus is in real estate foreclosures, he also has experience in an extensive range of other creditor matters including, but not limited to 1) recovery of collateral under Article Nine of the UCC, 2) collection of unsecured debts, 3) title insurance defense, 4) judgment enforcement, 5) placement of mechanic’s liens and other statutory liens and 6) protection of creditors’ interests in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies as well as Chapter 11 bankruptcies. During his legal career, he has lectured on such topics as real estate foreclosures, enforcement of security interests in bankruptcy, writs of possession, and piercing the corporate veil.

In 1995, Mr. Burnette received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky in History. In 1998, he received his law degree from the University of Louisville graduating magna cum laude. While in law school, he was an editor for the Journal of Law and Education and a member of the Journal of Family Law where, in 1998, he received the Best Student Note Award.

Mr. Burnette is licensed to practice law in all state courts and federal district courts in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the State of Indiana. He also is licensed to practice before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. In his spare time, Mr. Burnette enjoys reading, watching sports and, most importantly, spending time with his wife, Amy, and two children, Jill and Teddy.
